Ideation Phase
This phase focused on gathering inspiration and aligning the designs with EQT’s brand values. References included both industry-standard designs from established sources like The New York Times and The New Yorker, as well as more experimental and playful inspirations like Popeye’s graphic sketches. The combination of traditional and creative references aimed to create flexible, engaging headers that visually enhanced EQT's content while maintaining a balance between professionalism and a fresh, dynamic approach.
Design Process
The design process involved sketching alternative illustration styles for each category. Feedback was incorporated through two rounds of revisions, ensuring the designs met EQT’s requirements and allowed flexibility for future content. Franchise headers were particularly designed to function as templates, allowing for the addition of images or objects when needed.
Production Phase
After the illustrations were finalised, they were prepared in various formats suitable for digital use, ensuring consistency across all platforms. These assets were designed to be versatile, making them usable across newsletters, websites, and other digital channels.
Visual Identity for Content Categories
The designs for franchises showcased a balance between structured layouts and vibrant color accents. These visual elements differentiated the categories while maintaining a unified aesthetic across EQT's content.
The project successfully delivered 16 headers and banners (120 assets in total) that enhanced ThinQ’s digital content and newsletters. These assets aligned with the company’s brand identity while providing fresh, engaging visuals that met higher industry standards. The collaboration between the design team and EQT’s editorial and content production departments ensured that the headers seamlessly integrated into existing content, while their flexibility allowed for future updates.
